These three Black Backed Jackal pups (Canis mesomelas) where placed in our mammal room for the first night to see how they ate, drank and behaved. We have cameras set up in each of our clinic rooms to observe without having to go into a room unless absolutely necessary. 🤗♥️
These pups will be kept wild throughout their rehabilitation process with minimal human contact. There is never any reason to “tame” or “pet” a wild animal.
It took some time for them to settle in, first exploring their surrounds and then settling in to play with each other for the night. They emerged from their bundle of hay at around 17:30 when everything was quiet… From there it was exploring, play time all through out the night, with short rests in between.🤗♥️
