As part of his Masters research, Kyrone Josiah is undertaking a study on the Spotted Thick-knee, and their prevalence in urban areas. Kyrone is investigating their distribution across the urban mosaic landscapes of Pietermaritzburg.

 

Kyrone’s project is registered at the School of Life Sciences, University of KwaZulu-Natal, Pietermaritzburg Campus under the supervision of  Prof. Colleen Downs.

FREEME Wildlife has assisted in the research project by providing data from our previous Thick-knee patients. This data includes, sex, age, location and cause of injury.
