Every year the FreeMe Wildlife team head off to Fountainhill Estate to conduct raptor surveys.
These surveys take place four times a year to cover the different seasons and record the raptor species and activities taking place at that time of year.
In this, our first survey of the year, we had the pleasure of Kailen Padayachee from the Kainav Conservation Foundation’s company. Kailen is also undertaking a study through the Fitzpatrick Institute of Ornithology on using raptors as indicators of environmental contamination; a study the FreeMe Wildlife team are assisting him with.
These are some of the photos from the survey, some of which will get used in our survey report to Fountainhill Estate.
